101 Get-a-'bout alley...

So, what had happened was…

I was playing this guy and as you are aware, I tend to jabber at people. I Took one of his pieces and messaged “…First Blood…” and he wrote back, “is not movie”.
So I apologized (for his lack of humor) And asked him about his name, “Viorel”. His profile lists Montreal, so I ask if it’s French, he says, “no, is Romanian, I am from Transilvania.” And I believe him, ‘cuz he spelt it without the Y, as Romanians do. He also writes just like a eastern European that is struggling with English.
We get to chatting about the requisite Dracula stuff going into the British fear of the dark and passionate Romanians during it's publishing, and the psychology of stokers book and such…and he really has some great insight.

Meanwhile, simultaneously, I challenge this highly rated woman in Las Vegas to a game, and after a while into it,  she asks where “Dandymonkey” comes from. I tell her, then I ask where “Transdromeda” comes from.
Well, as soon as I send the message, the latent light over my head goes on. But she replys,  “Trans” as in Trans Am and “Andromeda’ as in the daughter of Cassiopia. But then I have to reply: “I would’ve thought it was Trans as in Transexual or Transvestite. Which would’ve been a chance to ask for some tips on alternative LV nightclubs (Casino clubs are so cheesy and wormy) and I go there a lot on business. I’m more of a dancy/gothy guy when I go out.” She goes quiet. Then she goes offline….and then she returns with a private message…

• “Private message from transdromeda:-----hey hun you do have it right. I am a chess obsessed tranny lol! just dont talk about it on public games”

I reply...

• “Private message from dandymonkey: ----Hello, I'm sorry, you're right. I did’nt mean to rip down any curtains. Now that I think about it, with your photo and your rating, ...you must get challenged alot. Nice angle!

• “Private message from transdromeda: ----Hello, dandymonkey its not an angle. im just a transexual who happens to love chess. i dont get challenged that much it does happen mostly i play mini ts, league and tourneys and team games.”

Then we play some more, I get more tips on LV, the game ends in a draw...

• Private message from transdromeda: ----Hello, dandymonkey! thanks for the draw. i had the perp but then threw it away with that last check because of your queen check. thanks for letting me off the hook”

…So…all the while I’m beating the Transilvanian and thinking: I’m playing a Sweet Transvestite and a Transylvanian. This is a noteworthy “Rocky Horror Picture show” moment. So that’s it, just had to share, but now, at least, It’s outta’ my system….

I truly hope that summer hasn’t arrived. I take this warm day as a threat to my cool comfort. I find people from different parts of our American largess possess different “weather traumas”. North Midwesterners tend to shiver at the smallest LA chill, as thought some winter were looming over them like an apocalyptic ….I, on the southern side, sweat with dread as summer approaches. Oh, I know that it will never climb to the sweltering level of a southern Mississippi …..but just imagining the sheen of oil that collects over the entire body… man.

P.S., everyone I play online chess with (and please forgive the blue language that I must use to properly express the sentiment), is a pussy! Everytime I get them in a corner, they take the maximum time allotted, 3 days, to make their next move. The sheer cowardice! I always play through my fate, as a matter of principle.
